Emery Engineering and Electrical is a well rounded general engineering, fabrication and industrial electrical business based in Lawnton Qld that has been operating for over 23 years. Recent move to a new workshop has seen our service business expand. We have a small team of outstanding people all working to towards a common goal of customer service. Personality is just as important as trade skills in this position.

Job Position
As Workshop Supervisor, you will ensure the safe and smooth operation of our workshop and onsite work. This role involves managing our workshop machinery and equipment as well as leading and managing a small team to service and meet customer requirements by producing high-quality products, repairs, and conducting onsite works.

Key Responsibilities

- Leadership & Supervision of Staff: Supervise day-to-day manufacturing operations, including scheduling, training, and performance management of workshop staff.
- Customer Service: Maintain a point of call for clients(either by email, phone or walk ins)
- Manage Production and Onsite Works: Plan and prioritise work schedules to ensure lead times are met for production, repairs, and onsite requirements.
- Quality of Work and Service: Ensure manufactured and repaired products meet our quality standards and customer service onsite is professional.
- Health and Safety: Enforce workplace health and safety in the workshop, identify hazards,



proactively address any health and safety concerns, train team members and foster a safety conscious work environment.
- Maintenance: Coordinate the maintenance, repair, and service of workshop machinery and equipment.
- Tooling and Consumables: Monitor inventory levels and arrange purchasing of items to maintain inventory levels of tools, consumables and equipment.

Key Selection Criteria

- Experience: Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or supervisory role of a small team.
- Technical Skill: Solid understanding of manufacturing techniques, processes, and machinery installation and maintenance.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate people, delegate tasks, and a solutions based approach to problem solving.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities with a solutions-oriented approach to problem resolution.
- Computer Skills: Good general knowledge of computers with experience using Microsoft Office software Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Qualifications

Trade qualification in Fitting and Turning or relevant mechanical field.
