Role Description The Assistant Manager is a on-site role based at our store in Townsville, QLD, supporting daily operations and contributing to a positive customer experience. Responsibilities include supervising team members during shifts, assisting with scheduling, and ensuring that store standards for cleanliness, merchandising, and product presentation are consistently met. The role involves engaging with customers, providing product knowledge, processing sales transactions, handling customer inquiries, and helping resolve issues in a qualified manner.



The Assistant Manager supports inventory management by receiving stock, organizing displays, monitoring stock levels, and participating in periodic stock counts. This position also assists with basic reporting, communicating updates to management, and contributing ideas to improve store performance and team collaboration.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated retail or customer service experience, preferably in specialty or boutique environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build rapport with diverse customers and team members.
- Basic supervisory or leadership experience, including supporting staff, coordinating tasks, and maintaining store standards.
- Comfort with cash handling, and simple reporting or record-keeping tasks.
- Interest in minerals, crystals, gemstones, fossils, wellness products, or related fields, with a willingness to learn and share product knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliability in managing time and responsibilities on-site.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform light lifting, and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Secondary school completion required; further education or training in retail, business, Minerals, Crystals and Gems or customer service is an advantage.
