Chandler Macleod is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Event Manager to support the planning and delivery of a significant public-facing event in 2027. This is an exciting prospect for a communications and events professional with experience managing stakeholder engagement, media activities, and large-scale events within a complex environment.

Based in Canberra (ACT), you will work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver high-quality event outcomes, develop communication materials, manage suppliers, and provide strategic communications advice.

Contract Details

- Location: Greenway, ACT
- Contract Duration: until June 2027 (with Potential extension)
- Security Clearance: Baseline
- Work Authorization: Australian Citizen ONLY

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the planning and delivery of a major event scheduled for 2027.
- Work closely with executives, project teams, and stakeholders to coordinate event activities.
- Manage external suppliers, contracts, budgets, and event resources.
- Develop and oversee communication products including media materials, social media content, web content, videos, and stakeholder communications.
- Coordinate media activities and support the implementation of approved media strategies.
- Provide expert communications and event management advice to stakeholders.
- Support broader communications initiatives and branch priorities as required.





About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Proven experience in event management, ideally including large-scale events.
- Experience in public affairs, communications, media, public relations, or stakeholder engagement roles.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Experience developing communication and engagement materials for diverse audiences.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
- Experience managing media requirements for events is desirable.
