Occupational Therapy Team Manager – Clinical Leadership & Regional Growth
Allied Care & Co | Bundall, Gold Coast QLD
Company Vehicle + Expense Account + Regional Travel
Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist who loves leading people just as much as helping clients?
We're looking for a leader, a mentor, a problem-solver & someone who is genuinely excited about helping shape the future of Occupational Therapy across Queensland.
At Allied Care & Co, we're not simply looking for someone to manage a team. We're looking for someone who will inspire it, challenge it, support it & help it grow.
If you're ready to step beyond a traditional clinical role & make a meaningful impact on people, culture & organisational growth, we'd love to hear from you.
About Allied Care & Co
Allied Care & Co is a growing, Gold Coast-based Occupational Therapy provider delivering high-quality, person-centred services across South East Queensland & regional communities.
Our services include Forensic Occupational Therapy, Functional Capacity Assessments, Assistive Technology, Home Modifications, ongoing Occupational Therapy, & complex clinical assessments and much more.
The Opportunity – More Than Just a Management Role
We are seeking an experienced & highly motivated Occupational Therapy Team Manager to join our leadership team at our Bundall office on the Gold Coast.
Working closely with our Owner & Clinical Director, you will play an integral role in leading, supervising & developing our Occupational Therapy team while helping shape the future direction of Allied Care & Co.
This is a hands-on leadership position combining people management, clinical governance, qualified supervision, operational oversight, clinician development & regional service expansion.
This is not a traditional 9-to-5 desk role; flexibility is required within agreed employment conditions.
We're looking for someone who takes genuine ownership of their responsibilities, brings ideas to the table, identifies opportunities for improvement & is passionate about building a team that delivers exceptional clinical care.
What Will You Be Doing?
1. Lead, Inspire & Develop Our Occupational Therapy Team
You will:
Provide direct leadership, management & qualified supervision to our Occupational Therapists.
Mentor & support clinicians at all stages of their careers, from new graduates through to experienced practitioners.
Conduct regular weekly clinical supervision, reflective practice sessions & career development discussions.
Manage clinician performance, probation reviews, development plans, accountability & wellbeing.
Conduct formal performance reviews, address concerns & implement performance improvement plans.
Contribute to recruitment decisions, leave recommendations & workforce planning.
Undertake field-based shadowing & mentoring, working alongside clinicians during community visits & complex assessments.
Identify individual learning needs & help clinicians build confidence, capability & clinical excellence.
Contribute to our Current Graduate & Emerging Clinician Development Programs.
Foster a positive, supportive & high-performing team culture where clinicians feel genuinely supported.
2. Drive Clinical Excellence & Quality
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing clinical oversight & guidance across Occupational Therapy services.
Supporting clinicians with complex cases, clinical reasoning & evidence-based decision-making.
Supporting the development & implementation of clinical policies, procedures & practice frameworks.
Participating in clinical audits, quality assurance & continuous improvement initiatives.
Promoting compliance with AHPRA requirements, NDIS Practice Standards & professional obligations.
Supporting incident management, risk identification & appropriate clinical escalation.
Working closely with the Clinical Director to strengthen clinical governance & service delivery standards.
3. Support Our Clinicians Where It Matters Most
This may include:
Attending community appointments to provide clinical mentoring & guidance.
Providing practical support during complex clinical situations.
Identifying opportunities to improve workflows, documentation & clinical efficiencies.
Working collaboratively with our administration & operations teams to ensure clinicians have the systems & support they need.
4. Help Grow Our Regional Outreach Program
You will:
Play an active role in the coordination, development & expansion of our Regional Outreach Program.
Travel to our established regional service locations to support clinicians & strengthen service delivery.
Build relationships with local healthcare providers, schools, support coordinators & community stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to establish services in additional regional communities.
Support the development of sustainable outreach models that balance clinical excellence, community need & operational viability.
Assist with regional workforce planning, service coordination & clinician development.
Work directly with the Clinical Director on strategic growth initiatives.
5. Contribute to Business Growth & Operational Leadership
You will:
Work closely with the Clinical Director on organisational planning & strategic initiatives.
Collaborate with our Operations Coordinator to improve clinical workflows & service delivery efficiencies.
Support workforce planning, clinician capacity management & caseload allocation.
Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes & service quality.
Champion a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration & continuous improvement.
Clinical Supervision, Mentoring & Professional Development
We don't expect you to know everything about Occupational Therapy. We do expect the confidence & leadership to help your team find answers.
Great leaders guide & empower others, recognise when specialist expertise is needed & connect clinicians with the right advice or resources.
You'll provide regular clinical supervision, reflective practice & hands‑on mentoring so clinicians feel comfortable asking questions, discussing cases & growing in confidence.
Even without an immediate answer, you'll have the initiative, knowledge & professional networks to help your team find one.
Above all, you'll inspire trust & ensure no clinician feels alone when navigating challenging situations.
Maintaining Your Clinical Skills
Although this is predominantly a leadership & management position, we believe our clinical leaders should remain connected to contemporary Occupational Therapy practice.
To support this, you will maintain a small, carefully balanced clinical caseload alongside your leadership responsibilities.
This will include:
Regional Outreach Caseload: Approximately three days per month delivering Occupational Therapy services through our established regional outreach locations.
Functional Capacity Assessments: A small, agreed FCA caseload to maintain your clinical expertise & professional currency.
Your primary responsibility will remain the leadership, development & management of our Occupational Therapy team.
Where Will You Be Based?
This is an office-based leadership position at our Bundall office on the Gold Coast.
Outside clinician visits & regional travel, you will work from our Bundall office.
Please note:
This is not a fully remote or work-from-home position.
Regular field-based support & clinician shadowing form part of the position.
Regional travel, including occasional overnight stays,
is an essential component of the role.
Flexibility will be required to accommodate operational priorities, clinical responsibilities & regional travel commitments.
Who Are We Looking For?
We seek an experienced OT with confidence, humility & initiative.
A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
A minimum of five years' clinical experience.
Demonstrated leadership, team management, clinical supervision or mentoring experience.
Strong clinical reasoning & experience managing complex clinical presentations.
Sound understanding of NDIS service delivery, clinical governance & professional practice standards.
Excellent communication, interpersonal & conflict-resolution skills.
Strong organisational skills & the ability to manage competing priorities.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach to leadership.
Current driver's licence.
Willingness & ability to undertake regular regional travel.
Highly regarded:
Previous experience in an Occupational Therapy Team Leader, Clinical Manager or Allied Health Management position.
Experience working in regional or rural healthcare settings.
An interest in service development, business growth & strategic planning.
What Makes You the Right Person?
We're looking for someone who:
Leads from the front. You're comfortable rolling up your sleeves, supporting your team & taking responsibility when challenges arise.
Has genuine initiative. You don't need to be told what needs improving. You recognise opportunities & take action.
Is passionate about developing people. You get genuine satisfaction from watching clinicians grow in confidence, capability & professional independence.
Thinks beyond the immediate task. You understand that valuable leadership means balancing clinical quality, clinician wellbeing, operational efficiency & sustainable growth.
Communicates with confidence & compassion. You can have difficult conversations, provide constructive feedback & maintain positive professional relationships.
Thrives in a growing organisation. You embrace change, bring new ideas & enjoy contributing to the development of something meaningful.
Believes regional communities deserve better access to healthcare. You're excited by the opportunity to help extend our reach across Queensland.
What We Offer
This position offers:
Competitive leadership remuneration package reflective of your experience & responsibilities.
Company vehicle to support your leadership, community & regional travel commitments.
Company expense account for approved work-related & regional travel expenses.
Direct collaboration with our Clinical Director.
A genuine opportunity to influence the clinical & strategic direction of a growing organisation.
Opportunities to travel throughout Queensland & contribute to meaningful regional healthcare initiatives.
The opportunity to contribute to innovative clinical programs, workforce development & service expansion.
A supportive, collaborative workplace where ideas, initiative & professional excellence are valued.
A Note From Our Clinical Director
Our strength comes from our people.
I want every clinician to feel supported, valued & empowered to excel.
I'm looking for someone who shares that vision & comes with positive energy & a can-do attitude, who sees challenges as an opportunity to grow.
Someone who is excited about developing clinicians, building strong teams, maintaining exceptional clinical standards & helping us take Occupational Therapy services into more communities across Queensland.
Work alongside me, bring ideas, challenge processes constructively & shape our next chapter.
I'm not looking for someone who simply wants a management title or a pay check.
I'm looking for someone who wants to lead, make a difference & be part of building something exceptional.
Allied Care & Co.
