A Senior 12D Design Engineer role working through an assigned portfolio encompassing roads, drainage and other civil infrastructure. The role will undertake 12D Drainage and Road Design and engineering to facilitate timely delivery in accordance with the works program.
Key responsibilities
- Undertaking the concept and detailed design using 12D, AutoTURN, AutoCAD programs and in accordance with DTP and Local Government requirements
- Undertaking necessary planning, investigations and concept development of planned infrastructure capital projects
- Preparing detailed designs for roads, drainage and other civil infrastructure as per the Investigations and Design process within estimated time and budget
- Ensuring that designs are completed in accordance with acceptable engineering standards and, where applicable, to the requirements of relevant government authorities
- Undertaking design co-ordination across multi-disciplinary civil engineering Projects
- Checking and assessing design and survey information received to ensure that it is technically accurate and sufficient for the specific project
- Liaising with Client's Project Managers in the preparation of civil design projects and assessing the works prior to submission
- Preparing and checking civil construction estimates, specifications and quantities as well as those prepared by trainee engineers and work experience students
- Keeping abreast of engineering practices, Australian Standards, Austroads Guides, Engineering Design Manual, DTP standards
- Liaising with statutory authorities as required
