The Chance

Our client is a large, highly regarded Australian organisation operating within an essential services sector. With a complex operating model, significant capital investment and ambitious plans for continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Group Financial Modeller to join their Finance team.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this newly created role will sit at the centre of the organisation's financial planning, treasury and capital management activities.

You’ll take ownership of sophisticated, integrated financial models across the Group, providing critical insights to support long-term financial sustainability, funding requirements and strategic investment decisions.

Working closely with senior leaders across Finance, Treasury, Operations and Corporate Transactions, this is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical modelling expertise in a genuinely commercial and strategic capacity.

The Challenge

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Developing and maintaining sophisticated, integrated three-way financial models across multiple entities
- Building robust cash flow forecasts to support long-term financial planning and strategic decision-making




- Partnering with Treasury to model liquidity, debt funding, covenant compliance and capital requirements
- Supporting financial modelling for major development projects, acquisitions and capital investment decisions
- Leading scenario and sensitivity analysis to assess financial risks, opportunities and funding requirements
- Supporting annual budgets, forecasts and analysis of key business drivers
- Preparing financial analysis and recommendations for the Executive Leadership Team, Board and external lenders
- Driving improvements in financial modelling processes, governance and integration with finance systems

The Expertise

- Significant experience in sophisticated financial modelling, ideally 10+ years, with strong capability across integrated three-way and cash flow models
- A strong understanding of structured finance, treasury, liquidity management, debt funding and covenant requirements
- Experience developing financial models to support strategic planning, investment decisions and capital allocation
- Exposure to property development, infrastructure, healthcare, aged care or other capital-intensive industries
- Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of how financial models translate into operational and strategic decisions
- Experience working across complex, multi-entity organisations and partnering with senior stakeholders
- Advanced financial modelling skills, with experience reviewing and improving existing models and processes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to executive and Board stakeholders
