Discover Counselling Services Pty Ltd is a registered NDIS provider for Positive Behaviour Support and Therapeutic intervention. We are looking to expand our team as a Behaviour Support Practitioner. This role involves providing specialist behaviour support to participants with complex behaviour needs, conducting comprehensive functional behaviour assessments, and developing individualised Positive Behaviour Support Plans in consultation with families and key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Provide specialist behaviour support to participants with complex behaviour needs
- Develop individualised Positive Behaviour Support Plans in consultation with families and key stakeholders
- Provide training and support to implementing providers in the participants behaviour support plan
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour support plans
- Liaise and work collaboratively with stakeholders
- Provide evidence based therapeutic supports (as required)
- Maintain detailed, accurate and up to date records
- Achieve set KPI's
About you
- Qualified registration as a Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist, Psychologist or other Allied Health Practitioner
- Current working with children (Blue card), and NDIS worker screen check (or able to obtain)
- Must have undergone suitability assessment as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the Quality and Safeguards Commission and hold a Behaviour Support Practitioner number
- Current First Aid certificate
- Hold a current QLD Drivers Licence
- Demonstrated experience working with complex or challenging behaviours
- Proven ability to provide client centred supports to people who have a disability / mental health
- Demonstrated experience in developing and supporting the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans
- Experience in delivering evidence based therapeutic interventions
- Experience working across multidisciplinary teams
