The Peacock Hotel located in High Street Northcote is looking for a experienced Chef to join our team!

Responsibilities:

Pre-service kitchen preparation (preparation of all ingredients and menu items)

Cooking of all menu items to order

Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation

Communicate with guests regarding the needs of their groups including dietary needs

Assist with menu planning and daily specials

Ensure food service areas are clean and organized.

Adhere to the food safety program and kitchen cleaning/maintenance programs

Assume some responsibility of all kitchen duties,



ordering and compliance.

Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring a high level of customer service and professionalism.

Supplier and cost management

Maintain appropriate OH&S; standards within the team & kitchen

Flexible rotating roster!

Required Experience/Qualification:

At least 3 years’ commercial Cook experience

Sound knowledge of traditional and current food trends

Previous experience in menu development and costing

Attention to detail, including adhering to food health and safety regulation.
