Aurum Contracting is a privately owned Civil Contractor, working in the traditional and renewable energy sectors We are currently seekingLabourers/Roller Operators to fill casual full time roles, with an immediate start, on a civil construction projectnear Mount Isa QLD, working a 21/7 roster, a 10 hr day, with a fatigue day and a fortnightly pay cycle. Note: these are NOT Brisbane based roles, candidates from outside Mount Isa, will not be accepted.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Perform all tasks relating to construction activities as directed by the site supervisor e.g.:
Work as part of a team in various civil works e.g. (digging, trenching, fencing, pipework, laying out materials, clearing, leveling of surfaces, back filling, installation of sediment and erosion control measures)
Operate Roller as required
General labouring as required.
Unloading and storing of materials
Delivery of materials around site as needed
Maintains tidy work area (safety)
Skills and experience
Must have an RII Roller ticket note: VOCs or OHS tickets are not acceptable
Current drivers license, license checks will be performed
Construction White Card
A minimum of three years experience as a Labourer/Roller operator on construction projects
Ability to complete all physical tasks related to Labouring work Note: this is not purely a Plant Operator role
Ability and willingness to follow direction from the Site Supervisor or Project Manager
Available for an immediate start
Ability to pass Drug and Alcohol testing and health screening
Ability and willingness to undertake online and face to face training and inductions
Must have a 'smart phone'
Ability and willingness to complete daily project documentation
Ability to work on remote sites and work rosters which include weekends.
Must be comfortable working for a private company
Robust safety awareness
Ability to provide documented proof of right to work in Australia
HR, MR or MC license or other plant RIIs
First Aid Certificate
N.B. Ex-Defense Force personnel and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are encouraged to apply.
