Senior Project Engineer, Demolition and Decommissioning. 8:6 roster, Newman.

KingKira Group is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of demolition and decommissioning works in Newman. This role offers genuine technical ownership across planning, estimating and execution on complex mining and heavy industrial sites.

The role:

Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with our project engineer, HSE team, site supervision and subcontractors, you will support the delivery of projects from contract award through to site clearance and handover.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting principal contractor obligations, including implementation of the WHS management plan, subcontractor management and client liaison.
- Delivery of decommissioning scopes, including fixed plant, conveyors, CHPP structures and shutdown works.
- Development and management of temporary works, propping and demolition sequencing in conjunction with the structural engineer.
- Review of drawings and specifications, and preparation of work methodologies, procedures and engineering documentation.
- Development and maintenance of the project programme, including coordination of labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
- Procurement, subcontract package management, progress claims and variation management.
- Cost and progress monitoring, with early identification and reporting of commercial and programme risk.
- Estimating and tendering on future scopes, providing direct visibility of project commercials from bid through to delivery.

About you: You bring demonstrated experience delivering demolition, decommissioning or heavy civil projects,



and you understand the engineering and safety risks specific to this work. You apply a rigorous, field based approach to safety, with a sound grasp of temporary works, structural stability, exclusion zone management and hazardous materials control. You are commercially astute, confident interpreting contract conditions, and able to manage head contractor and client relationships professionally under pressure.

Essential:

- Tertiary qualification in civil or structural engineering, construction management and or project management
- Demonstrated experience in demolition, decommissioning or heavy civil project delivery
- Proven capability in programming, subcontractor management, variations and progress claims
- Full Australian working rights
- Construction Induction (White Card) and a current driver’s licence

Desirable:

- Mining or resources sector experience
- Principal contractor experience
- Decommissioning experience on CHPP, conveyor or mineral processing infrastructure
- Asbestos or hazardous materials qualifications
- Estimating and tendering experience

Roster and location

This position operates on an 8:6 roster on site in Newman for the duration of the project, with a 5:2 arrangement in our Perth office between site periods. Flights, accommodation and meals are provided while on roster.
