Doris Talent
Sydney
doris Talent is delighted to be partnering with a well-established, Australian-owned construction business to appoint an experienced People & Culture Coordinator. Specialising in complex projects and with an impressive pipeline of projects ahead.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you'll support the day-to-day People & Culture function, working closely with employees and leaders while contributing to the positive, collaborative culture the business is known for.
This is a hands-on, Coordinator-level role offering plenty of variety, responsibility and genuine potential for career progression as the business continues to grow.
The Role
No two days will be quite the same, and that's part of the appeal!
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating onboarding, inductions, probation reviews and offboarding.
- Maintaining employee records, HR systems and documentation.
- Supporting recruitment alongside the Talent Acquisition team.
- Assisting with employee engagement, wellbeing and culture initiatives.
- Coordinating training, development and compliance activities.
- Preparing HR reports, correspondence and presentations.
- Improving People & Culture processes and providing day-to-day HR support.
There's also an element to this role that makes it a little different!
You'll provide administrative support to the Chief People Officer, including diary management, meeting coordination, occasional travel arrangements, executive presentations, reporting and confidential documentation.
This isn't an Executive Assistant role,
but we're looking for someone who enjoys variety and is equally comfortable supporting senior leadership as they are managing day-to-day HR activities.
About You
We're looking for a genuine doer. Someone who takes ownership, thinks ahead and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Around 3 to 5 years' experience in a People & Culture, HR Coordinator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of the employee lifecycle and operational HR processes.
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and ability to juggle priorities.
- Confidence preparing professional reports, correspondence and presentations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with plenty of initiative.
- Discretion when handling confidential information.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience with HR systems.
Experience in construction, engineering or a project-driven setting would be advantageous, but isn't essential. Most importantly, attitude is key!
You'll be approachable, down-to-earth, adaptable and someone who genuinely enjoys helping others.
What's On Offer?
- $100k–$110k package, depending on experience.
- Permanent, full-time role based in North Sydney.
- Annual salary reviews.
- Four wellbeing days each year, plus birthday leave.
- Paid parental leave and Foremind EAP support.
- Annual company conference and regular team-building events.
- Flat structure with direct access to founders and senior leaders.
- Social impact opportunities
- Genuine professional development and career progression opportunities.
Why We Love This Opportunity
At doris Talent, we're particular about the businesses we partner with, and this is one we're genuinely proud to represent.
Having personally placed two people into their Talent Acquisition team over the past year, I've had the opportunity to get to know the business, its leadership and culture firsthand. And I can confidently say they're a genuinely lovely bunch! They're approachable, supportive, down-to-earth and passionate about what they do. It's a collaborative environment where attitude is valued, contributions are recognised and people genuinely enjoy working together.
With an exciting period of growth ahead, it's a fantastic time to join them!
The business is ideally looking to welcome someone before Christmas, so we're keen to get conversations underway.
Sponsorship considered for the right candidate!
