Carpentry Trainer & Assessor - CRICOS Students

SITS College is seeking an experienced and motivated Carpentry Trainer & Assessor to deliver high-quality vocational training and assessment to domestic and international students enrolled in the Certificate III in Carpentry (CPC30220) at our Rocklea training facility.

The successful candidate will have strong industry experience in carpentry, a passion for training, and the ability to support international students in developing the practical skills and knowledge required for a career in the Australian construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging theoretical and practical training to CRICOS students enrolled in CPC30220.
- Conduct competency-based assessments in accordance with training package requirements.
- Develop and maintain accurate assessment records, student progress reports and training documentation.
- Monitor student participation, progress and competency achievement.
- Provide appropriate learning support and feedback to students.
- Maintain compliance with ASQA requirements, the Standards for RTOs 2025, and applicable CRICOS and ESOS obligations.
- Ensure training and assessment activities reflect current Australian carpentry industry practices and workplace safety requirements.




- Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge and participate in professional development activities.

Essential Requirements

- Relevant carpentry qualifications and demonstrated industry experience.
- Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or an accepted equivalent).
- Current vocational competency and industry skills relevant to CPC30220.
- Demonstrated experience delivering training and assessment in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of competency-based assessment and Australian vocational education and training requirements.
- Robust communication, organisational and student engagement skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate training, assessment and compliance records.

Desirable

- Experience training and assessing international students in a CRICOS-registered RTO.
- Familiarity with ASQA requirements, ESOS legislation and the National Code.
- Experience using an RTO student management system.
