Berkowitz is one of Australia's oldest furniture retailers. Commencing in England in 1896 they started their Australian story in 1896 in Victoria. Due to growth we are seeking an experienced Warehouse Storeperson to join our team

This is a full-time position based in the St Marys area. As a Warehouse Storeperson you will play a crucial role in assisting the warehouse manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse facilities. You will support the day-to-day activities of our distribution centre, contributing to the timely and accurate movement of goods whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and organisation. This position is integral to our supply chain operations and directly impacts our ability to serve our clients effectively.

ABOUT THE ROLE

- Receiving, unloading and checking incoming goods against delivery documentation to ensure accuracy and quality

- Organising and storing items in designated warehouse locations using appropriate equipment

- Sorting orders accurately according to customer specifications and warehouse procedures

- Excellent hours of 7am - 3pm allowing you time to enjoy personal afternoon time for such things as hobbies and school pick ups.

- Preparing shipments for dispatch, including labelling, documentation and loading onto vehicles

- Operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

- Assisting with conducting regular stock counts and maintaining accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems

- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working setting in compliance with health and safety regulations

- Answering internal and external queries in a professional and courteous manner.





- Supporting both your colleagues in the showrooms with their delivery queries as well as the teams of external logistics providers.

ABOUT YOU

- Previous experience working in a furniture warehouse, or distribution centre.

- Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet handling equipment (relevant certifications are advantageous)

- Strong attention to detail

- Conscious of the attention to care and detail needed to ensure no damage to Berkowitz products.

- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

- Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks

- Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to health and safety standards

- Computer literacy and experience with warehouse management systems or inventory software

- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Access to your own transport.
