Full-time | Outdoor Education Coordinator | Secondary

The King’s College is a thriving co‑educational Christian school providing Kindergarten to Year 12 education to more than 1,000 students in Perth’s southern corridor. As a ministry of The King’s Chapel, we are a community of people with a genuine desire to play our part in God’s story. We hold a clear vision for exceptional Christ‑centred education and believe deeply in the formative power of schools to shape students’ character, faith and future pathways.

With more than 150 dedicated staff across our Early Learning Centre, Primary and Secondary schools, we foster an environment where faith and learning intersect—preparing students for life with courage, integrity and generosity.

We are deeply committed to operational excellence and to fostering a workplace where employees feel informed, affirmed, supported, secure, and valued. We strive to attract and retain outstanding people, empowering them to do their best work every day.

The Opportunity

The King's College is seeking a dynamic, organised and passionate Outdoor Education Coordinator to design, lead and manage our comprehensive outdoor learning programs from Year 9 to 12.

In this role, you will be creating safe, transformative experiences that build resilience, teamwork, and a deep appreciation for nature.

The King’s College Outdoor Education Program provides students with authentic and engaging learning experiences beyond the classroom that foster personal growth, resilience, leadership, wellbeing, and a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors. The program is deliberately sequenced across the College to develop students’ confidence, independence, teamwork, environmental awareness, and outdoor skills through age-appropriate experiences.

You will be responsible for the leadership, development, coordination, and delivery of a comprehensive Outdoor Education program that supports the College’s mission of developing well-rounded young people of character, faith, and service. The role oversees camps, outdoor pursuits, adventure-based learning experiences, and associated risk management processes while promoting student engagement and wellbeing.

You will bring a genuine enthusiasm for the outdoors and an ability to create engaging learning opportunities that challenge students to step beyond their comfort zones, develop confidence, and build lifelong skills.

- Lead the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of the College’s Outdoor Education program, including curriculum, camps, expeditions, and adventure-based learning experiences.

- Design and deliver engaging learning programs that develop students’ resilience, leadership, teamwork, communication, problem-solving abilities, and practical outdoor skills.

- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of College camps, excursions, and outdoor programs, including logistics, transport, accommodation, equipment, staffing, and external providers.

- Monitor and assess student participation, progress, and achievement, using a range of teaching and assessment strategies to support diverse learning needs.

- Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and external stakeholders to ensure successful program delivery.

- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to Outdoor Education staff, supporting a collaborative and qualified team culture.

- Manage program resources, budgets, and outdoor equipment to ensure efficient, safe, and sustainable operations.

- Attend and lead camps, expeditions, and outdoor activities, including overnight programs, as required.

- Support the integration of Outdoor Education experiences across the broader College curriculum and community.
