A confident, emotionally intelligent HR problem-solver with the empathy, determination + expertise to find the best possible solution for every client enquiry
- Tertiary quals in HR, IR, Employment Law or equivalent
- Busy, fast-paced, phone-based role across HR, IR, & WHS
- 0.8 FTE (4 days/week) with occasional 5-day weeks during peak periods
- Inner north location
This is an important reactive role in a membership organisation …
It provides essential expertise to the many different organisations that hold the fabric of our communities together. Enterprises like kindergartens, sporting clubs, food banks, homelessness groups, palliative care organisations and others that need informed HR/IR/WHS advice so they can operate with confidence, compliance and care.
… where your role is all about support.
The members, often the unsung heroes behind these essential groups, look to you for guidance and support in navigating HR-related matters. Whether the phone enquiry is straightforward or the problem uncomfortably complex, you’re there to offer information, practical advice and direction. Calm and skilled in emotional regulation, you need to be an unflappable, seasoned HR professional with the empathy, confidence, communication skills and solid experience to provide immediate advice with strong commercial and risk awareness.
It’s busy, fast-paced work – with never a dull day.
Working alongside a team of experienced HR Advisors means being part of a rich exchange of ideas, insights and expertise, fostering a lively and supportive environment where collaboration thrives. You’re giving practical, on-the-spot support to community-based organisations. Working alongside other vibrant, like-minded people,
you draw on your subject matter expertise and excellent inter-personal skills to build trusting phone relationships with members and deliver exceptional client service that will positively impact on the community and its people. It’s a great role.
If you have the technical depth of a HR business partner combined with the vibrant personality and resilience of a call centre professional, it could be just what you’re looking for.
And you may well be just the person to do justice to this absorbing role.
Extroverted, great in a group, happy to talk out loud (especially on the phone), you love meeting new people and building work-based relationships. Proudly expert, you have remarkable judgement, confidence in providing immediate and sound commercial advice in your discipline and the courage to stand by your decisions.
With your solid knowledge of national employment standards, modern awards and enterprise agreements, you are well proven professionally. Collaborative, well organised, with sought-after analytical and problem-solving skills and an excellent reputation for communication and care, you are well suited to a senior HR role.
But the difference here is that you know the work you do each day is of direct benefit to the community and its people and beautifully fits a deep personal need to do good.
