About the role

Join Smart Landscapes as an Apprentice Gardener working on beautiful gardens across the Mornington Peninsula and Bayside. You'll train towards a Certificate III in Horticulture while working with our maintenance crew on residential gardens. This is a full time, paid apprenticeship with on-the-job training from experienced gardeners, plus time at TAFE or an RTO.

Key responsibilities

- Join our maintenance crew on regular garden runs

- Learn pruning, hedging, planting, mulching, mowing and edging

- Learn to identify plants, pests and diseases, and how to care for them

- Use and look after garden machinery safely

- Leave every garden, and the truck, clean and tidy

About you

- An interest in plants, gardens and working outdoors

- A good work ethic and a willingness to learn

- Reliable, on time and happy to work in a team

- Driver's licence, or working towards one





- No experience needed. School leavers and career changers welcome

Benefits

- Paid apprenticeship leading to a Certificate III in Landscape Construction

- Paid above Award apprentice rates, starting at $20.00/hr for 18 to 20 year olds, with a pay rise each year

- Weekday hours, 7:00am–3:30pm, with weekends and public holidays off

- Hands-on training from an experienced crew, plus time at TAFE or an RTO

- Uniform, PPE and quality tools supplied
