About the role
This is a lifespan role, working with children, young people and adults with developmental delay and disability. While you'll keep a client caseload (some NDIS), your biggest impact will come from building the capacity of the people around each person. As part of our mobile team, you'll work where life happens: homes, schools, preschools, workplaces and community settings.
Key responsibilities
- Coaching educators, teachers and support teams to create communication-rich environments
- Equipping families and support networks with practical strategies and multimodal communication approaches
- Working directly with clients across the lifespan, including people with complex disability
- Designing and running workshops and professional development
- Supervising and mentoring peers and less experienced speech pathologists
- Taking part in regional work, if that interests you
About you
- Degree in Speech Pathology and eligible for Certified Practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a speech pathologist, ideally across early childhood, schools and/or adult disability
- Passionate about capacity building and believe communication is a whole-team responsibility
- Confident (or keen to grow) in coaching adults, supervision and training others
- Experience with multimodal communication, including AAC, highly regarded
- A agile go-getter who still loves client work
- Current driver's licence, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to obtain)
