Estimating Manager

Lead Estimating, Tendering and Proposals

Location: Adelaide, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, or Brisbane (Can be based out of any of the Treadwell offices)

About the role

Bring your estimating expertise and leadership experience to a role where you can develop a team, strengthen tender submissions, and influence commercial outcomes.

Treadwell Group is seeking an Estimating Manager to lead estimating activities for FRP and composite structural solutions. You will combine team leadership with hands-on involvement in complex estimates, helping translate customer requirements into accurate, competitive, and commercially sound proposals.

Reporting to Sales and the Managing Director, you will lead a team of 5 based in the Philippines. The role offers the opportunity to improve estimating methods, build capability and strengthen coordination between Sales, Engineering, Procurement and Project Delivery.

Key responsibilities

- Team capability and workload: Allocate estimating resources, set priorities, coach team members and maintain consistent quality across competing deadlines.
- Estimating and tender coordination: Oversee submissions from initial scope review through to completion, bringing together technical, supplier and commercial inputs.
- Commercial review: Check quantities, material costs, manufacturing labor allowances, assumptions, exclusions and risks. Review pricing recommendations within agreed approval limits.




- Technical clarification: Work with Sales and clients to clarify requirements, and coordinate Engineering input where design development or technical approval is needed.
- Process improvement: Strengthen estimating templates, systems and review practices to improve accuracy, consistency and turnaround.
- Project handover: Ensure awarded work transfers to delivery teams with clear scope, cost assumptions, commitments and outstanding risks.

About you

- Strong estimating experience in fabrication, structural products, industrial manufacturing, infrastructure supply or a related sector.
- Relevant qualifications or substantial industry experience.
- Sound technical judgment, including the ability to interpret drawings and specifications and assess cost implications.
- Experience developing people, organising workloads and maintaining quality under deadline pressure.
- Confidence conducting technical client discussions and resolving scope uncertainties.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to learn estimating and business systems.
- FRP experience, familiarity with relevant access standards and experience using PlanSwift or Autodesk tools would be advantageous. Transferable expertise and the ability to learn are also valued.
