Sunset Sleepers manufactures reinforced precast concrete sleepers for residential, commercial and civil construction applications. Our manufacturing operations involve mould preparation, reinforcement placement, concrete pouring, curing, demoulding, product handling, quality inspection and dispatch.

About the Role

The Factory Team Operator supports the safe and productive manufacture of concrete sleepers and related products. The role requires a dependable, safety-focused and physically capable team member who can follow instructions, operate approved machinery and equipment, use digital systems accurately, and maintain a clean and organised work area

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out production tasks in line with work instructions, production schedules and supervisor directions.
- Prepare materials, support moulding and casting processes, and assist with finishing, handling and storage of products as trained.
- Operate machinery, tools and production equipment only when trained, authorised and competent to do so.
- Monitor the production process and report equipment faults, product defects, delays or unsafe conditions promptly
- Check products and materials for visible damage or defects and report any quality concerns.
- Complete production checks, checklists and records accurately and honestly.




- Use iPads and other digital systems to record job information, quantities, checks and task completion as required.
- Follow traceability, identification, storage and handling requirements.
- Keep work areas, walkways, tools and equipment clean, tidy and free from avoidable hazards.
- Return tools and materials to designated locations and dispose of waste in the correct areas.

If you have a forklift licence your key responsibilities will include

- Move, load, unload and position materials and finished products using approved methods and equipment.
- Operate a forklift only where appropriately licensed, authorised and trained, and follow site traffic-management rules.
- Check loads are stable and secure, maintain awareness of pedestrians, and report damaged equipment or unsafe loads.
- Follow manual-handling procedures and use mechanical aids or seek assistance for heavy or awkward items.
