Eastpoint Autobody is seeking an experienced and skilled Panel Beater to join our automotive repair team in Bayswater North, Victoria. Our workshop undertakes accident and collision repairs, including vehicle body restoration, with a focus on precise, high-quality workmanship.

This full-time, ongoing position is suited to a tradesperson with demonstrated expertise in vehicle body repairs and collision restoration.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspecting damaged vehicles and assessing damage to metal, fibreglass and plastic body panels.
- Removing damaged vehicle panels, components, trims and accessories to access areas requiring repair.
- Repairing dents and damaged body panels using appropriate panel beating techniques and equipment.
- Straightening and realigning damaged vehicle bodywork and structural components using mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
- Removing and replacing severely damaged vehicle panels and body sections that cannot be repaired.
- Filling, filing, grinding and sanding damaged or repaired surfaces to restore original vehicle contours.
- Cutting, shaping and welding replacement panels and body sections as required.
- Installing repaired or replacement panels and refitting associated vehicle hardware, including trims, door locks and accessories.
- Preparing repaired body panels and surfaces for subsequent painting and refinishing.
- Inspecting completed repairs to ensure correct panel alignment,



structural integrity and workmanship.
- Working collaboratively with estimators, vehicle painters and other workshop personnel to coordinate repair activities.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop environment in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.

Skills and Experience Required

- Relevant trade qualifications in panel beating or automotive body repair; or, in lieu of formal qualifications, at least three years of relevant work experience as a Panel Beater.
- Demonstrated experience in automotive accident and collision repairs.
- Sound knowledge of modern panel beating techniques, vehicle body structures and workshop equipment.
- Experience in panel replacement, welding, structural alignment and body restoration.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage tasks effectively and meet workshop deadlines.
