FoodWorks is seeking an energetic, commercially driven and people-focused Store Manager to lead our brand-new supermarket in the Melbourne CBD.

This is more than a store management role. It’s an opportunity to be part of a new store opening, build a team from the ground up, establish the store culture and standards, and play a key role in shaping the future success of the business.

Your Opportunity

As a Store Manager, you’ll take ownership of the store’s performance from day one. You’ll help bring the new store to life, build a high-performing team and create a shopping experience that keeps customer coming back.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

Drive commercial performance

Build sales, grow profitability and deliver strong business results.Monitor sales trends, gross profit, labour costs and stock loss.Identify opportunities to maximise sales and improve store performance.Set clear targets and turn business priorities into action.

Build an energetic, high-performing team

Recruit, lead, coach and develop a great team.Create a positive culture built on teamwork, accountability and having fun.Bring enthusiasm and energy to the shop floor every day.Set clear expectations, celebrate success and help people reach their potential.Lead by example and create an environment where people want to do their best.

Bring our new store to life

Help prepare the store for opening and establish strong operational routines.Set high standards for merchandising, presentation,



availability and cleanliness.Build effective processes for ordering, replenishment, stock rotation and waste management.Create a store environment that is organised, welcoming and ready to trade.Establish a strong foundation for a long-term commercial success.

Deliver and outstanding customer experience

Put customers at the centre of everything you do.Understand the needs of the Melbourne CBD customers and deliver convenient, reliable service.Build a team that takes pride in the store and genuinely cares about the customer.Maintain food safety, workplace health and safety, and compliance standards.

About You:

You will be an experienced supermarket or retailer leader who combines commercial know-how with genuine people leadership.

You will ideally bring:

Proven experience leading a supermarket or retail operation.Strong knowledge of sales, gross profit, labour management and stock control.A track record of building team capability and delivering results.A high-energy, positive and hands-on leadership style.Strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills.The confidence to take ownership, make decisions and challenge.A passion for creating great customer experiences and a team culture people are proud of.
