About Us

Beach Burrito Co. is all about fresh Mexican-inspired food, good music and a laid-back beachside atmosphere. Located in the heart of Dee Why, we're a busy, established restaurant serving up tacos, burritos, quesadillas and plenty more.

We're looking for an experienced and reliable Full-Time Cook to join our kitchen crew. You'll be working alongside a hands-on team, preparing quality food in a fast-paced environment where consistency, freshness and teamwork matter.

The Role

As a Cook at Beach Burrito Co. Dee Why, you'll be responsible for preparing, seasoning and cooking a range of dishes in accordance with our recipes, quality standards and food safety procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

- Examining ingredients and food products to ensure freshness, quality and suitability for preparation.
- Preparing, seasoning and cooking menu items, including meats, vegetables, sauces and other Mexican-inspired dishes.
- Operating and regulating temperatures of grills, ovens, fryers and other commercial cooking equipment.
- Portioning, plating and garnishing dishes to maintain presentation and consistency.
- Preparing food to accommodate special dietary requirements and customer requests.
- Monitoring food storage, refrigeration and temperature-controlled facilities to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Maintaining clean, organised and hygienic kitchen workstations.
- Assisting with menu planning, food preparation quantities and stock requirements.
- Monitoring stock rotation, minimising food waste and ensuring appropriate food handling practices.
- Assisting with the training and guidance of junior kitchen staff and apprentices where required.
- Working collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver productive service during busy periods.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy restaurant kitchen,



takes pride in their food and brings a positive attitude to every shift.

To be considered, applicants should have:

- AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (including at least two years of on-the-job training), or AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery; or
- At least three years of relevant work experience, which may substitute for formal qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and cooking food in a commercial restaurant environment.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene procedures and safe food storage.
- Confidence using commercial kitchen equipment, including grills, fryers and ovens.
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining food quality and consistency.
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach.
- Availability to work a flexible roster, including evenings and weekends.
