Quest Burwood East | Part-Time & Casual Housekeeper / Room Attendant

At Quest Burwood East, we believe exceptional housekeeping is one of the most key parts of a guest's stay.

We are currently looking for an exceptional person to join our Housekeeping team in a part-time or casual position.

This is not a role where we are simply looking for someone to make beds and clean rooms. We are looking for an experienced Housekeeper who genuinely takes pride in their work, notices the details others miss and understands the difference between a room being clean and a room being beautifully presented and ready for a guest.

You will work alongside our Housekeeping Manager and become a trusted member of the team. We want someone who can be relied upon, who works confidently without constant supervision and who cares about maintaining the standards of our hotel.

We place a strong emphasis on attention to detail, pride in work, reliability, flexibility, teamwork and the ability to work independently and to timeframes.

The position

We are offering a part-time or casual housekeeping position, with shifts available across weekdays, weekends and Public Holidays.

The successful candidate must have:

- Availability to work weekdays and weekends, including Saturdays and Sundays
- Flexibility to work Public Holidays when rostered
- The ability to work morning and daytime shifts in accordance with hotel operations
- A reliable and consistent approach to attendance and rostering
- The ability to work efficiently and independently within allocated room-cleaning timeframes

For a permanent part-time appointment, regular working hours and roster arrangements will be agreed upon. For a casual appointment, shifts will be offered based on operational requirements and availability.

Remuneration will be in accordance with the applicable award, including relevant casual loading and penalty rates.

Weekend availability is essential for this position. Please only apply if you are genuinely available to work Saturdays and Sundays as part of your regular availability.

What we are looking for

We are specifically looking for someone with strong previous hotel,



serviced apartment or accommodation housekeeping experience.

You should be someone who can walk into a room and immediately see what needs attention. Hair in a bathroom, fingerprints on glass, dust on a surface, linen that is not sitting correctly, an amenity missing, something that does not smell right, a maintenance issue or a small presentation detail that could affect the guest experience.

You will be expected to clean and present guest apartments to Quest standards, complete departure and stayover services, make beds, clean bathrooms, kitchens and living areas, replenish amenities, maintain housekeeping equipment and trolleys, assist with common areas and promptly identify and report maintenance or presentation issues.

Just as importantly, we are looking for someone who:

- Has previous hands-on hotel or accommodation housekeeping experience
- Can work efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Takes genuine pride in their rooms
- Is reliable, punctual and flexible
- Can manage their own workload and work independently
- Is comfortable working in a busy hotel environment
- Has strong communication skills
- Works well alongside Housekeeping, Front Office and Maintenance
- Has a positive, practical and solution-focused attitude
- Notices problems and communicates them rather than walking past them
- Is willing to help the wider team when needed
- Understands that consistency matters just as much as speed
- Wants to become someone the Housekeeping Manager and wider hotel team can genuinely rely on

Quest's performance standards require rooms to be completed efficiently, presented consistently to brand standards and for unresolved room issues to be accurately identified and reported.
