We are seeking a qualified and motivated Accountant (General) to join our team and oversee the accounting, financial reporting and compliance functions of our business group.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow reports.
- Maintaining accurate accounting records and ensuring compliance with applicable Australian accounting standards.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management.
- Managing general ledger accounts, reconciliations and financial transactions.
- Preparing and reviewing budgets, financial forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Analysing financial performance and providing recommendations to management.
- Assisting with the preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statements (BAS), GST reporting and other taxation obligations.
- Monitoring accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll-related financial records.
- Reviewing financial procedures, identifying discrepancies and recommending improvements to internal controls.
- Supporting financial audits and liaising with external accountants, auditors and taxation advisers.
- Providing financial advice to management regarding business performance, expenditure and financial planning.
- Preparing consolidated financial reports and coordinating accounting activities across related entities within the business group,
where applicable.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, applicants should possess:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance or a closely related discipline.
- A minimum of one year of relevant professional accounting experience.
- Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and relevant taxation and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience preparing financial statements, budgets and financial reports.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB or equivalent systems.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
