About the Department of Education
We contribute to Australia's economic prosperity and social wellbeing by creating opportunities and driving better outcomes through access to quality education and learning.
The Role
At the Office for Youth, we’re all about putting young people front and centre in shaping Australia’s future. We work with the whole of Australian Government to make sure youth voices are heard in the development of policies and programs that impact them. From Youth Advisory Groups to National Youth Consultations, we’re creating spaces where young Australians can have a real say. Plus, we help the government get better at engaging with youth through toolkits, training, and expert advice.
If you’re passionate about making change and want to help amplify youth voices across the nation, come join us and be part of something exciting!
As a Senior Policy and Program Officer in the Office for Youth, you will bring your knowledge, experience and perspectives to help strengthen the Office for Youth’s work with First Nations young people, communities and organisations. You will support the design and delivery of First Nations youth engagement initiatives and help ensure our broader youth engagement work is culturally safe, inclusive and responsive to the diversity of young people across Australia.
You will also contribute to a range of Office for Youth priorities, including Youth Advisory Groups, consultations, grants and other engagement initiatives. Working closely with a broad and diverse range of young people, including First Nations young people, the youth sector and colleagues across government,
you will help create genuine opportunities for young people to inform the policies and programs that affect them.
