Forgepoint Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mandrel CNC Operator / Programmer for an established metal engineering business based in St Marys. This is a full-time, long-term role in a fast-paced, precision-driven environment. This job requires you to set up, program and run CNC mandrel tube benders, producing accurate bends in tube and pipe from 6mm to 88.9mm diameter. This is a practical, hands-on role where accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Visa sponsorship and a relocation package are available for an experienced setter/programmer at the top pay level, so international applicants are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

- Set up CNC mandrel tube benders, fitting the bend die, clamp die, pressure die, wiper and mandrel for each job
- Load or edit programs at the control (bend angle, rotation, length between bends) and run production
- Read engineering drawings for centreline radius, bend angles, rotations and tolerances
- Complete first-off checks using verniers, tape, protractor and checking fixtures, then hold the measurement through the run
- Bend [mild steel / stainless / aluminium] tube and pipe, including cutting, deburring and end finishing
- Carry out changeovers between jobs and basic machine maintenance
- Keep the cell clean and parts tagged
- Please note this is a physical role, standing all day and handling long lengths of tube

What you’ll need





- Minimum 1 years’ experience running a CNC mandrel bender on your own, setting your own tooling (not just loading a machine someone else has set up)
- Ability to read drawings and explain how you get a bend to tolerance
- Accurate with a vernier, tape and protractor
- Full working rights in Australia, or be a solid setter/programmer suitable for visa sponsorship
- Own transport to St Marys for a 6:00am start
- Steel cap boots
- Programming experience at the control (BLM, Pines, Addison, Crippa, AMOB, Schwarze-Robitec or similar) is highly regarded
- Experience with multi-stack tooling, compound bends or tight-radius work is highly regarded
- Forklift licence (LF), TIG or MIG welding, or Cert III Engineering is advantageous

- $45 to $55 per hour + 12% super, depending on experience, paid weekly
- Visa sponsorship available for an experienced setter/programmer at the $50 per hour level

- Monday to Friday, 6:00am start
- Immediate start, subject to client approval and a trade test or trial on the machine

Pay: $45.00 – $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38.0 per week
