Café Manager / Future Venue Leader

We're looking for someone special to join the team at Eugenes.

We're a local, family-owned café with a big focus on great food, great service and creating an experience that keeps our customers coming back. We're proud of the team we've built, the relationships we've formed with our regulars, and the atmosphere we create every day.

Now, we're looking for someone who wants to be part of our next chapter.

This role is designed for someone who has solid hospitality experience and is ready to take the next step in their career.

You'll initially spend time working alongside our team, getting to know the venue, our customers, our systems and the way we do things. From there, you'll gradually take on more responsibility, with the opportunity to grow into independently managing the day-to-day operations of the business by the end of March 2027.

We're not expecting you to walk in knowing everything about Eugenes. We are looking for someone who brings experience, initiative and a genuine desire to learn, lead and make a difference.

What you'll be doing

- Working across the floor and bar to understand all aspects of our service.
- Helping create a welcoming, consistent experience for our customers.
- Supporting and leading the team during service.
- Learning our systems, procedures and daily operations.
- Gradually taking ownership of rostering, stock, team communication and general venue management.
- Identifying opportunities to improve the way we work and helping bring new ideas to life.

Who we're looking for





You might already be a café manager, a senior supervisor, a strong all-rounder ready for more responsibility, or an experienced hospitality professional looking for the right chance to step up.

You'll ideally be someone who:

- Has experience in a busy café, restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Is confident on the floor and has a good understanding of café service and coffee operations.
- Takes initiative, communicates well and looks for solutions rather than problems.
- Enjoys working with people and knows how to bring a team together.
- Is organised, reliable and comfortable taking ownership.
- Wants to grow with a business and build something meaningful, rather than simply fill a position.

Pay: $61,000.00 – $82,400.00 per year
