- Cleaning and Sanitation:
- Wash, sanitize, and polish dishes, cutlery, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashers or by hand.
- Clean and scrub benchtops, floors, cooking equipment, ovens, grills, and fryers.
- Empty rubbish bins, handle food waste, and clear recyclables.
- Food Preparation Assistance:
- Wash, peel, chop, and slice fruits and vegetables.
- Assist chefs with basic ingredient portioning, assembling straightforward items like salads or sandwiches, and plating.
- Heat, toast, or cook simple food items under supervision.
- Stock and Deliveries:
- Receive, unpack, check, and store food and equipment deliveries.
- Rotate stock to maintain freshness and track inventory levels.
- Restock work stations and service areas with clean plates, utensils, and ingredients.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow local food safety, hygiene, and workplace health regulations.
- Keep walkways, wet areas, and work zones clear of slip hazards.
