About Us

La Mortazza Pty Ltd operates an authentic Italian café and restaurant located in North Perth, Western Australia. We specialise in traditional Italian cuisine, including fresh pasta, pinsa romana, antipasti and Italian specialties.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team on a permanent full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of traditional Italian dishes, including pasta, pinsa, antipasti and other menu items.
- Follow established recipes and maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion sizes.
- Prepare ingredients and organise kitchen workstations for daily service.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards.
- Monitor stock levels, food storage and ingredient freshness.
- Assist with stock rotation, inventory control and minimising food waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment and work areas.
- Work efficiently during busy breakfast, lunch and dinner services.




- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

Skills and Experience

- Relevant commercial cookery qualification or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant commercial kitchen experience preferred.
- Experience in Italian cuisine highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
