The role
You'll be an important part of the engine room of our daily operations.
Working closely with our Operations Manager, you'll learn our systems and processes and progressively take
ownership of customer orders from first contact through to production, freight and dispatch.
You'll be responsible for:
● Entering and managing customer orders and keeping customers updated from order through to
delivery
● Scheduling production and finishing, and coordinating work with local platers and painters
● Organising local and international freight, including export orders
● Answering phone and email enquiries from retailers, OEM partners and project customers
● Logging service calls and keeping customer and product records accurate and up to date
● Helping with general administration and supporting the team as our new business systems are
introduced
● Following up outstanding tasks and making sure things don't fall through the cracks
As you become familiar with the business, we expect you to take increasing ownership of the day-to-day
operation of the role.
About you
We're looking for someone who is organised, practical and switched on — someone who takes pride in
getting things right and enjoys getting things done.
You will:
● Have solid experience in administration, customer service, order processing or operations
coordination
● Be accurate and thorough, with strong attention to detail
● Follow systems and processes carefully, but also suggest a better way when you see one
● Take ownership of tasks and follow things through without needing to be chased
● Be comfortable juggling priorities in a busy, hands-on small business
● Be confident using spreadsheets and business software
● Have good written and verbal communication skills
● Be comfortable dealing directly with customers and suppliers
Experience with MYOB, Google Workspace or ClickUp is a plus.
Experience in manufacturing, production scheduling, freight or logistics is highly regarded but not essential.
Most importantly, you're the sort of person who notices when something isn't right, works out what needs to
happen and gets on with it.
Why join us?
● A varied role in a close-knit team where your work is visible and valued
● Full training and support from our Operations Manager
● The opportunity to progressively take ownership of an important part of the business
● A chance to grow with Avenir as we automate and introduce new systems
● A practical, hands-on working environment where your ideas and initiative are encouraged
● Salary based on your experience, with a review after probation and ongoing rewards for
performance
