About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Formwork Carpenter to join our team on a full-time, ongoing basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, modifying and dismantling formwork systems used in civil and structural concrete works across infrastructure and commercial construction projects.

The role involves working with traditional and proprietary formwork systems, interpreting construction drawings and coordinating with site teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Interpret structural drawings, shop drawings and construction specifications relevant to formwork systems.
- Set out, construct, erect, brace and dismantle formwork for footings, ground beams, slabs, columns, walls, cores, piers and other structural concrete elements.
- Assemble and install traditional and proprietary formwork systems using timber, plywood, LVL and modular components.
- Ensure formwork is correctly aligned, levelled, braced and constructed to required dimensions and tolerances.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers and other trades to meet construction schedules and project requirements.




- Assist with sequencing formwork activities to support safe and efficient concrete pours.
- Identify and report construction clashes, design discrepancies and other site issues.
- Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools and formwork equipment.
- Assist with the handling, loading and unloading of formwork materials.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and site safety procedures.
- Maintain quality and productivity standards while minimising material wastage and rework.
- Assist with guiding labourers and junior workers where required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Requirements

- Relevant trade qualification in Carpentry or Formwork Carpentry, or at least 3 years full-time relevant work experience in lieu of a formal qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in structural or civil formwork construction.
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, construction plans and technical specifications.
- Sound knowledge of traditional and proprietary concrete formwork systems.
- Experience using relevant hand tools, power tools and construction equipment.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements in construction environments.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with supervisors, engineers and other trades.
- Construction White Card and any other relevant site-specific licences or tickets, including Working at Heights where required.
