We are seeking a skilled and experienced Spray Painter to join our team on a full time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint and protective coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes in accordance with workplace standards and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling, masking and priming.
- Select, mix and prepare paints, primers, coatings and other materials according to specifications.
- Operate spray-painting equipment, spray guns and related tools safely and efficiently.
- Apply paint, protective coatings and finishes using appropriate spray-painting techniques.
- Inspect completed work to identify imperfections and ensure a consistent, high-quality finish.
- Perform touch-ups, repairs and corrective painting where required.
- Maintain and clean spray guns, painting equipment and work areas.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including the safe handling and storage of paints, solvents and chemicals.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Minimise material wastage and maintain efficient use of painting supplies.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience working as a Spray Painter or in a similar painting role.
- Knowledge of surface preparation, paint mixing and spray-painting techniques.
- Ability to operate spray guns and other painting equipment.
- Understanding of different paint types, primers, coatings and finishing materials.
- Solid attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to identify surface defects and achieve professional finishing standards.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
