Durks Cafe is a busy, locally loved cafe serving fresh food, quality coffee and a range of take-home retail products. With steady growth in customer numbers and product lines, we are looking for a Retail Manager to lead the day-to-day running of our retail operations.
About the role
Reporting to the business owner, you will oversee sales, stock, staff and customer service, making sure the business runs efficiently and profitably every day.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and manage daily retail operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Set sales targets and monitor performance, pricing and promotions
- Manage stock ordering, supplier relationships, inventory control and wastage
- Recruit, train, roster and supervise staff
- Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve complaints
- Prepare sales reports and manage budgets and cash handling
- Ensure compliance with food safety, WHS and relevant regulations
About you
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a retail or hospitality management role
- Relevant qualification in retail management, business or similar (desirable)
- Solid leadership and communication skills
- Experience with POS systems, rostering and stock control
- Able to work a rotating roster, including weekends
