We are currently seeking experienced, reliable and compassionate Disability Support Workers to provide ongoing weekend support for a participant living in Berrima, NSW.
The participant is living with early-onset dementia and complex behavioural support needs. We are looking for calm, patient and confident workers who have experience in dementia care and can provide safe, respectful and person-centred support.
The family is looking for consistent workers who can build trust, establish a comfortable routine and provide reliable ongoing care.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience supporting participants with dementia
- Experience managing complex behaviours and behaviours of concern
- Calm, patient and understanding approach
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence in providing personal care and daily living assistance
- Reliable, professional and committed to ongoing fortnightly shifts
- Ability to build positive relationships with participants and families
Requirements
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or equivalent qualification
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current National Police Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Manual handling and infection control training
- Valid ABN and Australian working rights
- Relevant experience in dementia and complex behavioural support
Shift Details
- Every second weekend
- Saturday 9:00 am to Sunday 6:00 pm
- Inactive overnight component
- Ongoing fortnightly opportunities
- Support workers required to share weekend coverage
Important: Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview with the participant's husband before commencing.
