The Assistant Director leads complex policy, Cabinet, and budget workstreams, providing authoritative advice and high-level coordination to support senior executives.

The role exercises considerable independence, sound judgement, and strong stakeholder influence to ensure policy proposals and financial advice are strategically aligned, evidence based, and compliant with whole of government requirements.

The role may also be required to mentor/train a suitable APS6 person to build their skills and experience in New Policy Proposal processes.
