Help improve the SAP platforms supporting better health outcomes

At Medibank, our purpose is Better Health for Better Lives. We’re looking for an experienced SAP Functional Consultant to join our Technology and Operations team and support the critical SAP platforms underpinning our policy administration capability.

This is a hands-on functional role spanning production support, business analysis and project enhancements. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams and technology partners to solve complex problems, translate business needs into effective SAP solutions and continuously improve the way our systems operate.

You don’t need to come from private health insurance or already be an SAP FS-PM specialist. If you bring strong SAP functional capability, curiosity and the drive to learn a specialised domain, we’ll support you to build deep expertise in SAP Policy Management and the business processes it supports.

How you’ll make an impact

In this role, you will:

- Provide functional support for Medibank’s SAP systems, investigating and resolving business and system issues.
- Configure SAP solutions to support business requirements and production fixes.
- Partner with stakeholders and subject-matter experts to understand business needs and translate them into practical technology solutions.
- Facilitate and participate in requirements and solution-design workshops.
- Produce functional specifications, solution-design documentation and test cases.
- Contribute to SAP enhancement initiatives from requirements analysis and configuration through to testing and implementation.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing systems, processes and functional capability.
- Present solution concepts to stakeholders and help guide decisions as a trusted SAP adviser.
- Maintain system documentation and provide training or knowledge transfer when required.




- Build your expertise in Medibank’s policy administration environment, with the opportunity to progress toward a Senior Functional Consultant pathway.

You’ll ideally have:

- At least three years’ experience as an SAP Functional Consultant or in a similar functional role.
- Experience supporting and configuring SAP solutions in a production setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, including investigating complex business and system issues.
- Experience gathering requirements, undertaking functional analysis and developing solution-design documentation.
- Exposure to SAP enhancement projects and delivering functional changes through testing and implementation.
- Experience contributing to at least one end-to-end SAP implementation or significant enhancement initiative.
- The ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships and translate business requirements into clear technology solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A genuine interest in learning a new business domain and becoming a subject-matter expert in a specialised SAP capability.

Experience in SAP insurance, finance, customer management, policy management or related business processes would be valuable. Exposure to SAP FS-PM, SAP for Insurance, policy administration systems or private health insurance would be an advantage, but it isn’t essential
