Due to organic growth, one of our clients currently requires a Principal Civil Engineer. This is a full-time, permanent position based out of their Brisbane office, with strong progression opportunities in a highly-renowned, award-winning, growing consultancy.

This role offers the chance to take ownership of a varied urban development portfolio, combining technical engineering responsibilities with project management, client engagement and team leadership. You will play an important role in overseeing project outcomes, developing team capability and contributing to the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support a team of civil engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and mentoring.
- Oversee civil engineering projects across the full project lifecycle, from initial planning and design through to delivery.
- Review, assess and approve engineering designs, ensuring quality and compliance with relevant standards.
- Manage project budgets, resources, programmes and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and other project stakeholders.
- Coordinate project teams and external contractors to ensure successful delivery.
- Identify potential project risks, manage variations and resolve technical or delivery challenges.
- Assist with business development activities and identifying opportunities to expand the project portfolio.





About You

You will be an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong background in urban development and the ability to combine technical expertise with effective leadership.

To be considered, you will ideally have:

- Extensive experience within civil engineering, including previous senior or team leadership responsibilities.
- A strong track record delivering land development and urban infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing projects, budgets, client relationships and engineering teams.
- A Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Sound knowledge of Australian engineering standards, design principles and approval processes.
- Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Experience

- Previous experience working within the Queensland engineering market.
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
- Proficiency in civil design software such as 12d and AutoCAD.
- Exposure to broader civil infrastructure or transport projects.
