The Organisation
Our client is a well-established, not-for-profit healthcare and aged care organisation with an extensive national presence across residential aged care, retirement living, healthcare and community services.
Following the recent acquisition of two separate major asset portfolios, the organisation is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation, creating opportunities to strengthen asset management capability, improve operational consistency and establish sustainable, long-term maintenance strategies.
With a strong commitment to quality care, safety and operational excellence, the organisation recognises the critical role that well-maintained facilities play in supporting residents, employees and the broader community.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Regional Asset Manager to provide technical leadership and operational oversight across a portfolio of aged care, retirement living and associated facilities throughout Melbourne and the surrounding region.
Reporting to the Director of Facilities and Asset Management, you will play an integral role in ensuring assets are maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance, functionality and presentation.
This is a diverse position combining strategic asset planning with hands-on technical support, stakeholder engagement and the delivery of practical operational improvements.
With the organisation's recent portfolio acquisitions, you will also have the chance to contribute to the ongoing development of asset management systems, maintenance frameworks and consistent operational practices across an expanding property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide regional oversight of facilities and asset management across multiple aged care,
retirement living and associated sites.
- Develop and implement asset lifecycle plans, preventative maintenance strategies and asset renewal priorities.
- Ensure buildings, essential services and infrastructure remain compliant with relevant legislation, safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical advice and practical support to site-based maintenance teams, particularly when resolving complex building services and maintenance issues.
- Coordinate minor capital works, refurbishments and asset improvement initiatives, ensuring delivery within approved budgets and timeframes.
- Monitor contractor performance, maintenance expenditure, service agreements and operational budgets.
- Build effective working relationships with operational leaders, maintenance teams, contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement across maintenance systems, compliance reporting, asset performance and operational efficiencies.
About You
You will be an experienced Facilities or Asset Management professional who combines strong technical building knowledge with the ability to influence stakeholders and manage competing operational priorities.
Ideally, you will demonstrate:
- Proven experience managing facilities or assets across a multi-site property portfolio, ideally within aged care, healthcare,
retirement living or another complex operational environment.
- Strong technical understanding of building services, preventative maintenance, essential services and statutory building compliance.
- Experience in asset lifecycle planning, maintenance governance and contractor management.
- Demonstrated capability in managing minor capital works, refurbishments, operational budgets and asset improvement programs.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide technical guidance and influence outcomes across geographically dispersed sites.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach, combined with sound commercial judgement and the ability to work autonomously.
Relevant qualifications in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Services, Asset Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
