Operating across a multi-brand, multi-site network, Retail Zoo is a private equity-backed business focused on performance, disciplined growth and operational excellence.
We are seeking an experienced Finance Operations and Treasury Lead to provide strategic oversight and functional leadership across Retail Zoo’s transactional finance, treasury and connected finance systems.
Reporting to the Head of Finance – Corporate, this permanent, full time role will work closely with the AP/AR Manager across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash flow management, banking and payment gateways. Following our recent migration to Microsoft Dynamics 365, you’ll help embed sustainable processes, strengthen financial controls and drive greater automation, integration and efficiency across all Retail Zoo entities and brands.
You’ll also own weekly cash flow reporting, the supplier payment terms framework and the finance-side setup of franchise agreements, while connecting transactional finance with our Financial Accounting and Commercial Finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the AP/AR Manager to review and improve procure-to-pay and record-to-report processes, embedding clear procedures and consistent ways of working.
- Set and monitor finance operations metrics, including DPO, DSO, processing turnaround times and aged debtor and creditor balances.
- Drive continuous improvement, automation and system integration across transactional finance, including Concur and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Design, document and maintain financial controls, including delegations of authority,
segregation of duties, payment controls and oversight of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Consolidate AP/AR, payroll, rent, tax and other commitments into cash flow forecasts, identifying potential funding or covenant pressures early.
- Prepare weekly cash flow reporting for the Head of Finance and CFO, including actual versus forecast performance and a rolling forecast outlook.
- Oversee daily cash positioning, payment runs and bank reconciliations across all entities, and manage operational banking relationships.
- Own the supplier payment terms framework, working with Procurement and brand teams to support negotiations, ensure consistent application in D365 and monitor compliance.
- Manage the finance-side setup and maintenance of franchise agreements, ensuring terms are accurately reflected in billing and accounting.
- Oversee payment gateway and merchant service arrangements, including fee reviews, provider negotiations, settlements, reconciliations and chargebacks.
- Own Payment Times Reporting Scheme compliance and lodgement, liaising with external stakeholders and regulators as required.
About You
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with CA or CPA qualifications, or progress towards qualification, preferred.
- Around 5–7 years’ experience within finance operations, shared services or transactional finance.
- Experience working across a complex, multi-entity business, with retail, franchise or QSR experience highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience improving procure-to-pay and record-to-report processes, with a track record of process automation and system integration.
- Experience preparing cash flow forecasts and working with banking and payment processes.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, with experience designing and operating controls in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 or a comparable ERP, and Concur or a comparable expense management system, preferred.
- Strong stakeholder leadership skills, with the ability to influence and direct activity across shared services, finance, technology and operational teams.
- Experience managing supplier or franchisee relationships and working through billing, payment or trading terms queries.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with Power BI or similar reporting tools.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to balance attention to detail, competing priorities and broader business needs.
What’s In It for You?
- Birthday leave to celebrate your day your way.
- 12 weeks paid parental leave.
- Access to our 24/7 wellbeing and support platform.
- Generous team member discounts across our brands.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a broad finance operations and treasury remit within a complex and growing multi-brand organisation. You’ll play a key role in strengthening cash flow visibility, improving financial controls and embedding systems and processes that support Retail Zoo’s continued growth.
