West Melbourne | Data Centre Construction | 9-Building Development | 2.5-3 Year Programme

Salary: $350K - 500K plus package

This is a major project. It needs a Project Director who knows how to deliver at scale.

We are partnering with a leading data centre contractor to appoint an experienced Project Director to take the lead on a significant, nine-building data centre development in West Melbourne.

This is a major greenfield project, offering the prospect to take ownership of a large-scale programme and play a defining role in its successful delivery from the early stages through to completion.

With design progressing and site mobilisation on the horizon, the successful individual will be instrumental in setting the project up for success, shaping the delivery strategy and building on the capability of an established project team.
With an anticipated programme of 2.5-3 years, this is a substantial long-term opportunity with genuine responsibility, scale and visibility.

THE ROLE

You will be the driving force behind the delivery of this development.
Taking overall responsibility for project execution, you will lead across operations, commercial performance, programme, client relationships and the wider project team.

This is not simply about overseeing construction. It is about creating the structure, setting the standards and driving the performance required to deliver a complex, multi-building development successfully.

Working alongside an established management team,



you will bring strong leadership, commercial discipline and a clear approach to project delivery. You will also play an important role in developing the people around you, strengthening the team and ensuring the right systems and processes are in place to support the programme.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Take full accountability for the successful execution of the nine-building development.
- Establish robust project controls, systems and processes that drive consistency, performance and accountability.
- Provide direction across programme, commercial, contractual and operational activities.
- Develop strong working relationships with the client, ensuring expectations are managed and commitments are delivered.
- Maintain control of project financials, cost management, forecasting and overall commercial outcomes.
- Lead, mentor and strengthen the existing project management team, building capability for the duration of the programme.
- Ensure effective collaboration between internal teams, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
- Identify risks, manage challenges and drive opportunities before they impact delivery.
- Create a culture focused on quality, safety, collaboration and getting the job done right.

This is an opportunity for an established Project Director, or an ambitious Senior Project Manager ready to step into a broader leadership position, to take on a significant data centre development and make a lasting impact on its delivery.
