The Role

We’re seeking a full-time Electrical Engineer based in Melbourne, focused on low-voltage (LV) electrical engineering and hazardous areas projects. You’ll work closely with clients to define technical requirements and deliver robust engineering solutions, from early requirements through design, integration, commissioning and handover.

Responsibilities for the role include:

- Deliver electrical engineering support across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and FEED through detailed design, construction and commissioning.
- Undertake LV/HV electrical design for industrial, manufacturing, energy and infrastructure projects.
- Design and specify switchboards, MCCs, Motor Control, cabling, protection and earthing systems.
- Perform electrical calculations and power system studies, including fault levels, protection coordination, arc flash and earthing.
- Prepare high-quality engineering deliverables including calculations, reports, specifications, scopes, drawings and schedules.
- Undertake site inspections, investigations and provide practical solutions for brownfield and greenfield projects.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, vendors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Support project proposals, feasibility studies, tenders, construction and commissioning.

Qualifications / Experience:

- Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Controls, or related discipline)




- 5+ years' experience in industrial, manufacturing or infrastructure projects.
- RPEV, CPEng, NER or actively working towards accreditation.
- Strong experience in LV electrical design, with HV experience highly regarded.
- Experience with power distribution, MCCs, switchboards, motors, instrumentation and industrial electrical systems.
- Experience producing engineering calculations, specifications, reports and design documentation.
- Strong knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, such as AS3000 and AS60079, and electrical design practices.
- Experience with client site work, implementation, and commissioning.

About You:

- Must have full work rights in Australia
- Drivers Licence
- Experience in hazardous areas, instrumentation/control systems or power system studies would be highly regarded.
- Experience in Industrial Automation- PLC (Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider) and SCADA (Ignition) will be highly regarded.
- A Grade Electrical Licence will be advantageous
