Senior Manager, eDiscovery - Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane

One of Australia’s leading law firms is looking for a Senior Manager to sit at the centre of its eDiscovery and legal technology team. You’ll be the right hand to the team’s leadership, taking ownership of the most complex matters and acting as the point of escalation when things get difficult.

Just as importantly, you’ll help shape where the team goes next. The Head of eDiscovery is stepping up into more strategic work, and this role gives you holistic oversight of the team, its resourcing and its development. You’ll have access to a wide range of new tools, including genAI, and the freedom to test them, adopt the ones that work and build better processes around them.

The essentials

- Sydney preferred, with Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth considered
- Hybrid working
- Permanent, full time
- Reporting to the Head of eDiscovery, with up to 5 direct reports

Responsibilities of a Senior Manager, eDiscovery:

- Act as the first point of escalation on complex eDiscovery matters, taking ownership of delivery and outcomes
- Lead and develop up to 5 direct reports, with oversight across a wider team of managers and analysts
- Shape team strategy with the Heads of eDiscovery, including resourcing and team structure




- Design and improve the team’s processes and workflows
- Test new legal technology and genAI tools, and turn the ones that work into everyday practice
- Mentor managers and build capability across the team

Requirements of a Senior Manager, eDiscovery:

Essential

- Experience leading and developing a team in eDiscovery or legal technology
- Hands-on Relativity experience in a live environment
- A track record of running complex eDiscovery matters at a senior level
- Genuine curiosity about genAI and recent legal technology, ideally shown through something you’ve written, presented or built

Nice to have

- Law firm experience. Strong backgrounds from service providers or in-house teams will also be considered
- Relativity certification
- Digital forensics experience
