More than just structural design

This opportunity offers a combination of technical design, project involvement, site inspections and client interaction.

You'll have the chance to take greater ownership of your work, contribute to engineering decisions and develop your confidence in dealing directly with clients, builders and other project stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Structural analysis and design across a range of building projects.
- Working with engineering software including SpaceGass, ETABS and RAPT.
- Undertaking site inspections and resolving structural engineering issues during construction.
- Liaising directly with builders, architects, clients and other consultants.
- Providing technical guidance and support to less experienced engineers and designers.
- Assisting with project coordination,



design reviews and quality assurance.
- Taking increasing responsibility for project delivery and client relationships.

This is a position where you'll be encouraged to become a more rounded Structural Engineer, rather than concentrating exclusively on calculations and design.

Develop your leadership and client skills

- The consultancy is particularly interested in someone who has already demonstrated some leadership ability and is keen to build on it.
- You may have mentored junior engineers, coordinated project work or taken responsibility for particular aspects of structural design and delivery.
- Equally important is your ability to communicate effectively.
- You'll be comfortable meeting people on site, discussing technical issues with builders and architects, and developing professional relationships with clients.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills will be essential, along with a practical approach to solving engineering problems.

What we're looking for - Ideally, you'll bring:

- At least five years' structural engineering experience, preferably within an Australian consultancy environment.
- Strong technical experience in structural analysis and building design.
- Working knowledge of SpaceGass, ETABS and RAPT.
- Experience undertaking site inspections and dealing with construction-related engineering matters.




- Some demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience.
- The confidence to communicate with clients, architects, builders and other consultants.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound engineering judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- A genuine desire to progress your career and take on greater responsibility.

You don't necessarily need to be managing a team already.
