The Opportunity

If you enjoy solving complex technical problems, mentoring engineers and building client relationships, this role offers the opportunity to combine all three.

As Power Systems Team Leader, you'll remain technically involved while leading and developing engineers, overseeing project delivery and contributing to the team's commercial performance.

You’ll build trusted client relationships, understand their challenges and identify opportunities for further engineering support.

The role could suit an established Team Leader or an experienced Senior/Principal Power Systems Engineer ready to step into formal leadership.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor and develop a team of Power Systems Engineers.
- Provide technical leadership across power systems studies, modelling, analysis and project delivery.
- Review engineering work, ensuring technical quality and delivery against agreed budgets and timelines.
- Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
- Build trusted client relationships, understand their challenges and identify opportunities for further engineering support.




- Contribute to commercial objectives and the continued growth of the Power Systems capability.
- Support workload planning, team performance and continuous improvement.

About You

You'll be an experienced Power Systems Engineer who enjoys technical problem-solving but is equally motivated by developing people and building client relationships.

You’ll bring:

- Strong Power Systems engineering experience within a consultancy, EPCM or project delivery environment.
- Demonstrated experience in power systems studies, modelling and relevant analysis software.
- The ability to review technical work and guide other engineers.
- Experience mentoring engineers and developing technical capability.
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of project delivery responsibilities.
- A proactive, accountable approach to engineering and problem-solving.
- Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering, with RPEQ or the ability to obtain it highly regarded.

Previous formal team leadership experience is desirable but not essential.
