Express Employment are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter & Machinist to join our team in a manufacturing setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining, fitting, assembling, maintaining and repairing mechanical components and equipment to engineering specifications.

Hours of work: Mon - Fri 6am - 2.30pm + overtime

Pay Rate: $66.49/h

Key Responsibilities

- Operate conventional lathes, milling machines and other workshop equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Perform mechanical fitting, assembly, alignment and repairs.
- Inspect components to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Troubleshoot mechanical faults and carry out maintenance as required.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop.

Skills & Experience





- Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting and Machining, or equivalent.
- Experience in machining, mechanical fitting and assembly.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- Experience in heavy manufacturing, hydraulics or railway maintenance equipment is advantageous.
