We are seeking a full time Excavator Operator to safely and effectively support electrical and construction operations by operating excavators to carry out site preparation, excavation, trenching and earthmoving works on civil and electrical infrastructure projects. The role ensures all works, equipment and documentation meet MEC NT safety, quality and operational standards. Benefits Task & responsibilities Complete site preparation, excavation and earthmoving works, including bulk excavation, backfilling and levelling Carry out trenching operations, including trenching for underground electrical cables and conduits Read and interpret site plans, drawings and BYDA service plans to complete trenching and excavation to the required alignment, depth and levels for underground electrical services, in accordance with project plans and specifications Carry out civil construction activities safely and efficiently; Conduct daily pre-start inspections and basic maintenance checks on plant and equipment; Operate and maintain plant, heavy vehicles, tools, and equipment in good order in accordance with operator’s manual,



company procedures and good practice Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance Reporting maintenance & repairs that require attention to the Site Administrator and Site Supervisor (lock out equipment if unsafe to use) Load & unload equipment & materials from vehicles and trailers Ensure company equipment, materials and the work sites are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a secure manner.

Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and waste. Complete machine prestarts and hand into the Site Administrator or Contracts Administrator Complete paperwork, reporting and other documentation as required and or requested Maintain effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders Qualification & experience Valid HR Driver’s Licence (Minimum) & own means of transportation. White Card (Construction Induction). Valid Police Check (completed within the last 30 days). Excavator, Backhoe & Skid steer Tickets or VOC’s. C2 or C6 Mobile Crane (HRWL). LF Forklift Truck (HRWL) At least 1 year of relevant work experience Desirable: High Risk Work Licence or training in the below: C6 Mobile Crane (HRWL). WP Boom Type Elevating Work Platform (HRWL). DG Dogging (HRWL). RB, RI or RA Basic, Intermediate or Advanced Rigging (HRWL). LS & LL Front End Loaders/ Skid Steer Types. LE Excavators. LB Front End Loader/backhoes.
