The role focuses on designing, implementing, optimising, and supporting cloud workloads and platform services across enterprise environments. The engineer works closely with architects, operations, security, and application teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions aligned with organisational standards and cloud architecture best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise Azure cloud platforms including IaaS, PaaS, storage, networking, and identity services.

• Implement and maintain Azure landing zones, cloud governance, resource organisation, and policy-based controls.

• Contribute to cloud architecture decisions and ensure designs align with best practices and enterprise standards.

• Automate cloud deployment and configuration using tools such as Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure Dev Ops.

• Implement Azure networking components such as VNets, Express Route, Firewalls, Load Balancers, and Private Endpoints.

• Support identity and access management in Azure using Azure AD, RBAC, Conditional Access, and Managed Identities.

• Monitor and optimise cloud performance, reliability, and cost across Azure workloads.

• Troubleshoot complex cloud platform and infrastructure issues across hybrid, multi-cloud, and on-premises integrated environments.

• Implement and maintain security controls aligned with cloud security frameworks and zero‑trust principles.

• Participate in cloud migration activities, including assessment, planning, and cutover execution.

• Produce and maintain technical documentation including design artefacts, procedures, and operational runbooks.

• Work with project and operations teams to ensure solutions are operationally ready and properly transitioned into service.

• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and capability uplift across engineering and operations teams.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of cloud engineering processes, governance, and automation frameworks.
