If you’ve served in the ADF, you already have the skills that matter most in this role: disciplined radio procedure, sharp situational awareness, and a steady head when an incident unfolds. We’ll help you put them to work in a civilian career.
ISEC is seeking a dependable, motivated and experienced Control Room Operator to join our team at a prestigious corporate high-rise site in Sydney’s CBD. This full-time position is paid at Security Officer Level 5 under the Security Services Industry Award.
About the Role
You will work a 24/7 rotating roster comprising 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends and public holidays. Your responsibilities will include:
· Monitoring CCTV, alarms, electronic access control and building management systems, and responding in accordance with site procedures.
· Coordinating responses to incidents, alarms and emergencies with on-site security officers, building management and emergency services.
· Maintaining situational awareness, identifying emerging risks and escalating issues promptly.
· Preparing clear, accurate shift reports, incident reports and operational records.
· Maintaining registers and providing thorough shift handovers to support continuity of operations.
· Communicating calmly and professionally with stakeholders, providing assistance and clear information.
· Working collaboratively with your team to maintain consistent security and service standards.
· Pay in line with the Security Services Industry Award – Security Officer Level 5.
About you
You are an attentive security professional who understands the importance of vigilance, discretion and explicit communication in a control room environment. You can manage competing priorities, follow procedures and make considered decisions under pressure. You will bring:
· Some experience in control room operations is helpful but not mandatory.
· Strong stakeholder engagement, customer service and conflict resolution skills.
· Clear verbal and written communication, including accurate report writing.
· High attention to detail, sound judgement and a calm approach.
· Professional presentation, reliability and a willingness to develop your technical skills.
Essential criteria
· Current NSW Security Licence, Class 1A as a minimum.
· Current First Aid and CPR qualifications.
· Australian citizenship.
· Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Baseline security clearance.
· Availability to work 12-hour shifts across a 24/7 rotating roster.
Why join ISEC?

We support our people through site-specific induction, ongoing training, regular management engagement and opportunities for professional development. You will join a team that values professionalism, teamwork and pride in service delivery.
