Vault Cloud is an Australian sovereign cloud provider with 14 years of experience delivering secure, scalable and high-performance cloud capability. Operating at national hyperscale, we provide the infrastructure to securely manage critical data and demanding workloads. Our experience spans some of Australia’s most security-sensitive environments within Government and Critical Infrastructure, giving us deep expertise in sovereign cloud and secure data management.
As organisations increasingly adopt AI, Vault Cloud is extending this capability to enable secure, high-performance intelligence at scale. Our platform combines secure full cloud services, open architecture and high-performance AI inferencing, supported by a valued partner ecosystem. Together, these capabilities give organisations the capacity, flexibility and performance to run critical workloads while maintaining sovereignty, security and control of their data.
We are hunting for a brilliant DevOps Engineer for a high-priority, 6-month engagement. To align with our infrastructure requirements, this role is strictly open to candidates currently based within Australia. We aren't looking for someone to shadow a team; we need an autonomous engineering force who loves solving real architectural puzzles at hyperscale.
If you pride yourself on your ability to cleanly automate complex cloud infrastructure, orchestrate containers at a tier-4 level, and execute flawlessly under tight timelines, we have the perfect sandbox for you.
You will:
- Design, deploy, and secure automated pipelines and architect deterministic infrastructure environments using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
- Author high-quality automation scripts (Bash, Python), manage code quality via Git, and deliver technical runbooks and blueprints that align with sovereign cloud security standards.
- Act as the ultimate Tier-4 technical escalation point,
deep-diving into complex network, Linux, and platform errors to unblock operations teams and keep production infrastructure resilient.
- Partner with our product squads and customers to translate requirements into secure solution patterns, advising on technical feasibility
To be successful you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Australian Citizenship: Must hold or have the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
- A proven track record as an elite DevOps specialist who can hit the ground running on day one without needing a lengthy ramp-up period.
- Advanced, practical expertise engineering complex CI/CD pipelines and scaling containerized workloads using Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Production-grade system engineering skills in Linux ecosystems, backed by the ability to write clean, advanced automation scripts in Bash or Python.
- An airtight architectural understanding of core networking services, protocols, and the OSI/TCP-IP models of network layers.
- Prior experience operating in high-security, compliant, or highly regulated environments, with a foundational understanding of modern cloud security patterns.
- The grit and professional maturity required to navigate a fast-paced, expanding scale-up setting where rapid execution and practical problem-solving are paramount.
What’s in it for you?
- Be at the forefront of cyberwarfare, the greatest technology challenge of our generation
- A diverse culture where we celebrate our people and their unique, individual perspectives
