An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employment Lawyer to join a progressive and growing legal practice with a strong reputation for delivering commercially focused workplace relations advice. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a diverse client base, providing strategic guidance across the full employment lifecycle while enjoying genuine autonomy, flexibility and direct client engagement.

Working as a key member of the employment team, you will take ownership of complex matters, build long-term client relationships and play an active role in the continued growth and success of the practice.

The Role

You will advise clients across a broad range of employment and workplace relations matters, partnering with businesses to deliver practical, commercially focused solutions that align with their objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Advising clients across the full spectrum of employment and workplace relations law, from recruitment and workforce management through to termination and post-employment issues.
- Managing complex and sensitive employment matters with minimal supervision.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
- Providing strategic and commercially focused advice to a diverse client base.
- Supporting client acquisition initiatives and contributing to the growth of the employment practice.

- Identifying opportunities to deepen existing client relationships.
- Collaborating with colleagues across the broader firm to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
- Contributing to the strategic direction of the team and broader business.
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members where required.

The ideal candidate

- 5+ years' PAE in employment and workplace relations law.
- Solid technical expertise across a broad range of employment matters.
- Experience advising on complex and sensitive workplace issues.
- A commercial and strategic approach to legal problem-solving.
- Strong business development and relationship management skills.
- The ability to build trusted client relationships and generate repeat work.
- Excellent communication, drafting and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive and ownership-driven approach to your practice.

This is an opportunity to join an innovative legal practice that values autonomy, flexibility and collaboration. You'll work closely with clients, take ownership of meaningful and complex matters, and play an active role in shaping the future growth of the employment practice. With flexible working arrangements, a supportive culture and a genuine focus on outcomes rather than billable hours, this role offers an attractive alternative to traditional private practice.
